CN_QfZqUcAEtsS1As a contributing writer for VintageKC magazine, a vintage lifestyle magazine inspired by the booming vintage and antique market in Kansas City, I pitched story ideas, wrote various departments and features and took the occasional photo.

I served as a contributing writer for the magazine since its inception in 2012 when it was founded by an entrepreneur in Kansas City inspired by the vintage trend.

From feature stories to people profiles to contributing to a craft project every issue, I enjoyed writing a variety of content for the magazine.

Writing for the vintage home decorating, dining and crafts scene in Kansas City.

Brown & Loe | Fall 2016 | VintageKC magazine

The editor of VintageKC magazine tasked me with writing a piece for the magazine’s new vintage dining department. The idea for the piece was to dine at a restaurant with a vintage ambiance and write a piece from the diner’s perspective.

I pitched multiple restaurants that I thought would fit the trend and the editor asked me to write about Brown & Loe, a new restaurant in an old bank serving up classic comfort food. While I don’t typically write about food, I enjoyed mixing the vintage perspective with a more traditional restaurant review.
